Finishing Well 3
In this month's brief "sound-bite", Matt Summerfield continues the series on ‘Finishing Well as a leader’ by thinking about the importance of playing to our strengths.
Why not watch this video with your co-leaders this month and then spend some time chewing over the following questions:
- Read Psalm 139:14-16, Jeremiah 1:5, Ephesians 4:7. What do these passages have to tell us about how God has formed us as gifted individuals?
- Some people say that people are ‘born’ with a gift, whilst others say that ‘gifts’ are developed. What do you think?
- Take some time as a team to reflect together on your strengths and talents. What do you see in yourself? What do you see in others? Make this a very affirming and encouraging time.
- Encourage each other with ways in which you can make better use of your strengths and talents in your youth and children’s work. Agree to take some actions as a result of this.
- Dare to be honest with each other also about areas of weakness. Admit where you need help and pray and support each other in this.
- Take some time to meditate on Ephesians 2:10. Chew over the words in silence for 5 minutes and then reflect together on anything we felt God say.
