Walk Like Jesus Walked
In this month's brief "sound-bite", Matt Summerfield unpacks what it looks like to live like Jesus in the world.
Why not watch this video with your co-leaders this month and then spend some time chewing over the following questions:
Opening question – What do you think it means to live like Jesus lived?
Watch the video together...
- Jesus was committed to live for God. Read John 5:19, John 12:49 and John 14:10:
- What comes across in terms of Jesus commitment to be obedient to God?
- Can you think of any examples where Jesus was radical in the way that he related to people?
- There are things that distract us from giving our lives fully to God. Look at what John says in 1 John 2:15-17 and 1 John 5:21:
- What things do you think get in the way of you living for God?
- Walking like Jesus walked is not easy! What assurances does John give us in (1 John 4:16b-17) that it’s worth the persecution and trials we might face?
- John was keen that we understood there were choices that we had to make. Look up the following passages and see if you can identify the choice and the consequence of each. What do you choose today?
- 1 John 1:6, 1 John 1:7, 1 John 1:9, 1 John 2:3, 1 John 4:12, 1 John 4:15, 1 John 5:14
- What do you think about these words from Greg Levoy…
“Jesus promised those who would follow him only three things . . . that they would be absurdly happy, entirely fearless, and always in trouble."

Are you aware that we have a team of great communicators who love to get out and about speaking in churches?
If you’d be interested in having a guest speaker come to speak in your church in 2010, or beyond, then don’t hesitate to get in contact with Virginia Boakes on vboakes@urbansaints.org. All we ask is that we have the opportunity to share for three minutes about the work of Urban Saints, encouraging people to connect with us through volunteering, praying and supporting.
