Making The Letters
In several of the sessions, you’re asked to create letters from magazine pages to spell out the different types of Bible books – for example, LAW and HISTORY. This may sound a little complicated but it’s not.
First choose a colour for the letters and look for an advert or photo that is predominantly that colour; you may need to find several. As the background of the artwork is quite complex, you will probably want to cut the letters out of something quite plain. You can of course use plain coloured paper or wrapping paper.
Next cut rectangles from that colour, one for each letter, each of them about 5cm by 3cm. They don’t need to be too precise.
Then cut into each of those rectangles to create chunky capital letters that you’ll stick on the board. Don’t worry about too much detail in the letters – you don’t need to cut a hole in the top of an A for example.
