Thy Kingdom Come

Thy Kingdom Come is a global prayer movement, which invites Christians around the world to pray between Ascension (25th May 2017) and Pentecost (4th June 2017) for more people to come to know Jesus Christ. What started out as an invitation from the Archbishops’ of Canterbury and York in 2016 to the Church of England has grown into an international and ecumenical call to prayer. The hope is that:

  • people will commit to pray with God’s world-wide family - as a church, individually or as a family;

  • churches will hold prayer events, such as 24-7 prayer, prayer stations and prayer walks, across the UK and in other parts of the world;

  • people will be empowered through prayer by the Holy Spirit, finding new confidence to be witnesses for Jesus Christ.

This is a great opportunity to engage your young people with prayer and know they are praying alongside not only people in their nation but across the world.

To help inspire you to get involved, we've collected together some great prayer ideas and resources from across the Energize site and beyond.

This article from our 7 Ways... series offers some suggestions (seven in all!) on how to engage young people with prayer.

We're all creative communicators but sometimes our approach to prayer doesn't reflect that. Jenny Baker explores how we can harness our creativity in our prayer times.

As always, Jesus offers the best guidance on how to communicated with our Father.  These sessions from the Life of Jesus series help children and young people understand this prayer and apply it to their lives today.
