Hugh Fearnley-Whittingstall has declared war on food waste. Following successful campaigns for more sustainable fish eating and better treatment of chickens he has now launched a BBC series called Hugh's War on Waste, campaigning to cut down the amount of food produced never to be eaten. There is an online petition and extensive use of the social media to raise awareness. Many magazines and newspapers have picked up the story and promoted it.
