When the Lord finished speaking to Moses on Mount Sinai, he gave him the two tablets of commandments, the tablets of stone inscribed by the finger of God. When Moses approached the camp and saw the golden calf they had made as an idol, and the really bad dancing that was going on around it, his anger burned and he threw the tablets out of his hands.
